Meet Janie!
Janie is a 20 year old student at the University of Texas at Austin, studying advertising and business. As a Style Shack intern, Janie photographs and creates the imagery for our social media content. After her internship, Janie is hoping to use the skills and experience from Style Shack to break into the industry of representation and brand growth. Part of her job at Style Shack is running the behind the scenes for the brand ambassador program; a fantastic initiative that offers ambassadors the opportunity to grow their media following whilst receiving store perks.
Why did you want to intern with Style Shack?
Style Shack has always been my go to place to shop for myself and friends, so I was extremely excited when they announced that they were looking to hire a social media intern. After talking to Sherry over the phone, I knew that Style Shack was going to be a good fit for me. Sherry, Dawn, and all the Style Shack staff members were so friendly and welcoming. I am truly so lucky that I get to work with such an incredible group of women.
What have you learned during your internship?
During the internship, I have learned about the behind the scenes of running a business. There’s an incredible amount of organization, teamwork, planning, and rearranging that makes a business successful.
What is your favorite piece of jewelry or item from the store?
I love all of the simple gold chains. I am constantly layering necklaces and Style Shack has great simple pieces that are easy to layer!
What product from Style Shack would you recommend in a heartbeat?
I absolutely obsess over Style Shack's tableware and home decor so it's hard to pick an exact product. However, I highly recommend the Guzzini salad bowls or the Assouline coffee table books!
Are there any fun facts that you want customers and blog readers to know about you?
My great great grandfather invented Cracker Jacks!
Meet Ellie!
Ellie is a 19 year old student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She has joined the Style Shack team as a social media intern and an in store consultant. After her time interning with us, she hopes to pursue work in the marketing and advertising realm of business. Ellie has shared just how much she has learned during her time at Style Shack; growing her knowledge of the social media ins and outs and the ways to best attend to customers who might feel lost when looking at a wall of products.
Why did you want to intern with Style Shack?
I wanted to intern at Style Shack because it is a store that I’ve always loved. From the merchandise to the energy of the store, everything is always so bright, happy, and inviting.
What is your favorite piece of jewelry or item from the store?
My favorite item from the store definitely has to be the art prints from artnwordz . I have four of them in my room! I think they are so unique and can fit into every space.
What product from Style Shack would you recommend in a heartbeat?
I would definitely recommend any of the house decor items. Everything is so chic and can elevate any room to the next level.
Are there any fun facts that you want customers and blog readers to know about you?
I have been very interested in photography from a young age.
Meet Emma!
Emma is a 21 year old student studying Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management at Indiana University. She joined the Style Shack family as a social media content and photography intern. She was a frequent shopper at the store before joining the team and her love of the products and customer service led her to come aboard. Her social media skills and ideas are a welcome addition to the Style Shack brand. Emma is hoping to gain more media content experience throughout her internship as well.
What have you learned during your internship?
I have learned that it is very easy to get creative at the store whether it is changing a display, or pairing different items together for a post
What is your favorite piece of jewelry or item from the store?
I love all of the earrings from Style Shack and especially the books with studs on them. Those are just two of my favorites!
What product from Style Shack would you recommend in a heartbeat?
I would recommend any of the candles as they are all beautiful, clean, and have great scents!
Are there any fun facts that you want customers and blog readers to know about you?
I lived in Italy for four months.
